Connie Wease, Administrative Assistant for the Children's Pastor Connie became a Christian in 1985 and since that time has served her local church in a number of capacities, including serving as treasurer for 17 years at the Mt Vernon Church of the Nazarene in Alexandria. Connie joined Calvary in 2002 after the Mt Vernon Church was closed and turned into a Hispanic ministry. Connie is a 7-year ovarian cancer survivor and during that trial she realized her purpose in life and the reason for her survival is to help people through life and try to make their way easier. Connie has taken that true servant’s heart and is willing to work behind the scenes to ensure that the Discovery Zone teachers and leaders are equipped to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the young hearts and minds at Calvary. She has also learned that one of her spiritual gifts is paper and Pastor Doreen has nicknamed her the “Paper Queen”. Connie also is the regional director for SoloCon, the Church of the Nazarene’s ministry to single adults. As if all this was not enough, Connie works full time at Verizon in the DSL, Distance Learning Center. Her career with Verizon has spanned the last 27 years. She is originally from West Virginia, but has lived in Northern Virginia for the last 22 years. She is single and enjoys traveling, is addicted to craft fairs and all things Celtic, and enjoys reading historical novels in her spare time.
