Karen Doolittle, Executive Administrative Assistant
karen@calvary-church.org
Karen took her first plane trip at the age of 6 days from Baltimore to Pittsburgh where her father saw her for the first time. She spent the rest of her childhood in her parents’ hometown of Meadville, PA where life was revolved around family, church, school, and road trips. By age 16, Karen had traveled to all but three of the 48 continental states (via pick-up camper), through most of Canada (same camper), and had been selected to represent her church at the International Institute in Switzerland (plane & train—no camper). After high school, it took six years (one working at a county mental health center where she got a different kind of education), graduation from two Nazarene colleges, and three majors to find her way, but she completed school with degrees in Secretarial Business and Elementary Education (and an accidental minor in Psychology).
Since then she has spent most of her career in various ministries that included teaching at a Christian school, working with children and teens, speaking at retreats and revivals, writing, providing admin support for a counseling group, and managing a music evangelist’s ministry. Throughout her journey, she has especially delighted in helping others to new levels of spiritual growth in their personal relationship with God. After a few years in the “real world” working for temp agencies, a Dupont contractor, and Sprint, she returned to church ministry when God opened the door for her to work at Calvary Church. Her responsibilities are diverse and include pretty much whatever isn’t on someone else’s job description.
Living for God is never boring!
