WHAT WE BELIEVE

Jesus Changes Everything.

At Calvary, we believe Jesus is at the center of everything.

We are a community of people learning to follow Jesus, become more like Him, and live out His mission together. As a Church of the Nazarene, we are part of a global Wesleyan-Holiness denomination that believes God's grace not only forgives us—it transforms us.

Our beliefs shape how we worship, how we live, how we treat one another, and how we serve our community and our world.

WE BELIEVE IN GOD

We believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God created us, loves us, pursues us, and invites us into a relationship with Him.

WE BELIEVE IN JESUS

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human.

Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and is Lord of all. Through Jesus, we can experience forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with God.

Jesus changes everything.

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the world and in the life of every believer.

The Spirit draws us to God, makes us aware of sin, gives us new life, empowers us to live faithfully, and continually transforms us to become more like Jesus.

We don't believe following Jesus is something we accomplish through our own strength. God's grace is at work in us.

WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD

We believe the Bible is God's Word and our primary guide for knowing God, understanding His story, and learning how to live.

Scripture shapes what we believe and how we live. We want to be a church where God's Word is taught faithfully, understood clearly, and lived out practically.

WE BELIEVE IN GRACE

Grace is at the heart of the gospel.

We believe God's grace goes before us, draws us toward Him, forgives our sins, gives us new life, and continues to transform us.

We cannot earn God's love. We respond to His grace by placing our faith in Jesus and allowing Him to change us.

WE BELIEVE WE ARE MADE FOR HOLY LOVE

As Wesleyans, we believe God doesn't simply want to forgive our past—He wants to transform our lives.

God's desire is to make us more like Jesus, shaping our hearts, our character, our relationships, and our actions.

We believe holiness isn't about being perfect or pretending we have it all together. It is about being fully surrendered to God and learning to love God and others with the kind of love we see in Jesus.

WE BELIEVE THE CHURCH IS A FAMILY

We believe the church is more than a building or a Sunday gathering.

The church is a people called to follow Jesus together.

We need one another. We worship together, grow together, pray together, share life together, and serve others together.

Church isn't something we simply attend. It's a family we belong to.

WE BELIEVE JESUS SENDS US

Following Jesus always moves us outward.

Jesus calls His followers to make disciples and share His love with the world. We believe our mission begins right where God has placed us and extends to the nations.

That's why we seek to:

Our mission is simple: MAKE CHRIST-LIKE DISCIPLES IN THE NATIONS.

Calvary Church of the Nazarene is part of the global Church of the Nazarene, a Wesleyan-Holiness denomination.

Our beliefs are grounded in Scripture and expressed through the Articles of Faith of the Church of the Nazarene.
